Update: Middle East Tensions Impact Global Transport

Dear Customers,

The geopolitical situation in the Middle East continues to place significant strain on global transport networks. Ongoing disruptions in key maritime and air corridors, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz, are affecting schedule reliability, capacity availability, and transit times across multiple trade lanes.

Recent industry assessments indicate that even in a scenario of partial stabilization, the recovery of global shipping networks is expected to be prolonged. Carriers are facing sustained operational challenges due to rerouting, elevated security measures, and higher operating costs, with knock-on effects expected to extend well into 2027.

Rising Fuel Prices and Longer Lead Times Impact Global Transport

As a result, shippers should continue to prepare for longer lead times, fluctuating capacity, and cost volatility, especially on routes linking Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

Rising oil prices are already passing through to bunker adjustments, fuel surcharges, and general freight rate pressure across ocean, air, and multimodal transport. These increases are being felt globally, not only on Middle East‑related routes.

Higher Costs, Longer Lead Times

Carriers continue to operate under higher cost structures due to longer routings, elevated security measures, and insurance premiums. As a result, shippers should anticipate:

  • Longer and less predictable transit times
  • Ongoing capacity tightness on certain lanes
  • Continued fuel‑ and risk‑related surcharges
  • Increased volatility in freight rates and cost forecasts
Supporting Your Shipments

Hacklin Logistics remains in close contact with carriers and partners, actively monitoring developments and supporting customers with alternative routing options and shipment-specific guidance. For questions related to your shipments or planning support, please contact us.

Best regards,

Office closed for Easter Weekend

In Finland, Easter is traditionally a time to slow down and reset after the long winter, spending time with family, enjoying the return of light, and preparing for the busy months ahead. Even in logistics, there are moments when planning ahead matters just as much as speed.

Please note that we are closed for Easter from 3 April to 6 April. We’ll resume normal operations after the holidays.

We wish you a happy and peaceful Easter weekend!

Staff Meeting

What does it really take to build a workplace where people feel heard? For us, it begins with togetherness, active participation, and a genuine opportunity for employees to influence and contribute.

At our recent staff meeting, we took time to openly reflect on where we are today and where we are heading – not only as a company, but as a community of people working together. Beyond the agenda topics, the most important element was dialogue: listening to questions, ideas, and perspectives from across the organisation. When people feel included and heard, engagement naturally turns into shared ownership.

That sense of connection extended beyond the meeting room. As the photos show, we also came together to celebrate Chinese New Year and enjoy a shared Chinese lunch 😊

Logistics Built on Networks

Why logistics is built on networks, not just routes? In both project and general cargo forwarding, success depends on strong professional networks, trusted partnerships, and people who truly understand the operational realities behind every shipment.

Attending international partner networks and industry meetings is an essential part of how we operate at Hacklin Logistics. These gatherings bring together logistics specialists from across continents representing different markets, expertise, and operational environments.

▶️ Meeting partners face to face matters. It strengthens trust, allows open conversations, and creates a shared understanding that simply cannot be achieved through emails or calls alone. Exchanging experiences, discussing challenges, and sharing insights helps all parties raise the standard of project execution long before the cargo starts moving.

▶️ Our partner management approach is based on clear requirements, mutual responsibility, and close cooperation ensuring that every partner involved in a project operates to the same high expectations our customers demand.

Weather Is Never a Side Note

In project logistics, weather is never a side note. Rain, wind, cold, and varying site conditions all influence how cargo is protected, secured, and ultimately delivered safely.

These pictures were not taken for marketing purposes at the first place. They are part of everyday operational work on the road, taken by drivers, subcontractors, and site personnel to document, verify, and confirm that each load is properly secured, wrapped, and protected according to agreed standards. This documentation is an essential part of quality, safety, and transparency in project deliveries.

Behind every successful project delivery are:

▶️ Clear and continuous communication between all parties
▶️ Experienced drivers and subcontractors who make the right decisions on site
▶️ Coordinators and project teams who ensure alignment from planning to final delivery

Project logistics is a true team effort, built on trust, communication, and people who take responsibility to deliver complex projects safely, professionally, and on schedule, regardless of weather or operational challenges.

Women in Logistics

Many smooth operations, well‑handled shipments, and successful deliveries are made possible by dedicated women whose expertise, resilience, and commitment keep things moving forward, even in a traditionally male‑dominated industry.

In recognition of International Women’s Day, we took a moment to celebrate the women of Hacklin Logistics, as well as women across the logistics industry, whose knowledge, leadership, and commitment keep supply chains and businesses connected.

International Women’s Day has its roots in early movements advocating for women’s rights and fair working conditions. In Finland, equality in working life has a long tradition: Finland was one of the first countries to grant women full political rights, and equality remains a core societal value today.

Situation in the Middle East

Impact on Global Transport Flows

Dear Customers,

Due to the escalating situation in the Middle East, we would like to inform you of potential impacts on international transport and supply chains.
Heightened security concerns in the region have led to operational disruptions across key transport corridors, including restrictions affecting both maritime and air freight. These developments are impacting carrier operations and may result in schedule changes, longer transit times, and capacity constraints on certain trade lanes.

Ocean Freight

The situation in the region has affected critical maritime routes, including passages linked to the Strait of Hormuz. Several shipping lines have announced service disruptions, route adjustments, or temporary suspensions, which may lead to:

• Delays in vessel schedules
• Changes in routing and port calls
• Increased congestion at alternative ports

In addition, some carriers have announced the introduction of risk‑related or emergency surcharges, which may be applied in accordance with carrier tariffs and contractual terms.

Air Freight

Airlines operating in or via the Middle East have implemented airspace restrictions and revised flight routings. These measures may result in:

• Extended transit times due to longer flight paths
• Reduced capacity on certain routes
• Short‑notice schedule or operational changes

Any additional costs or surcharges applied are airline‑driven and may vary depending on carrier, routing, and booking date.

Hacklin Logistics is actively monitoring carrier and airline advisories and port notices, coordinating alternatives where feasible (rerouting, mode changes, schedule rebooking) and informing customers of shipment‑specific impacts and options.

If your shipments could be affected, your Hacklin Logistics contact will reach out with route-specific guidance and options. For any immediate questions, please contact your Hacklin Logistics representative.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as the situation evolves.

Best regards,

Hacklin Logistics Team
