Shanghai Typhoon Update | 12 August 2026

Typhoon Dolphin has weakened after making landfall on China’s east coast during 8-11 Aug. While the most severe weather conditions have passed Shanghai, the region continues to experience heavy rainfall, localized flooding, and operational disruptions. Authorities have begun lifting emergency restrictions, and Shanghai’s ports and airports are gradually resuming operations.

▶️ Please note that logistics operations remain affected by the aftermath of the typhoon. Vessel schedules, terminal handling, trucking, and flight services may continue to face delays as ports work through congestion and accumulated backlogs following the suspension of operations during the storm. Terminal gate activities in Shanghai and Ningbo have resumed in phases, but recovery to normal service levels is expected to take several days.

Although operations are gradually restarting, the situation remains dynamic, and stakeholders on the ground continue to report operational challenges as supply chains work to recover from the disruption. Further delays and schedule adjustments may therefore be expected in the coming days.
